A great many of my stories deal with the profound aspects of the human experience that are the traditional realms of religion and spirituality (loosely understood). Whether it is the place of gratitude across religious traditions, the “fairy faith” in the West of Ireland, Buddhism in the U.S.A., spirituality and the dying process, contemporary witchcraft or makeshift urban shrines, these pieces examine the experience of faith and transcendence, especially as they relate to morality, justice and the search for ultimate meaning. (To read a book chapter I’ve written about my religion reporting, go here.)
